Hello, I have been sporadically looking for a successor car for a long time, since my current 2002 Volvo C70 2.4 Turbo Coupé will soon be the time-segment (270tkm, LPG system defective and soon again some repairs due which are well above the time-value of the vehicle, have also repaired it for 8 years and already …), The Volvo has a great five-cylinder 200hp softturbo engine and is in total extremely robust processed, but I have in the 8 years long I always missed the good suspension comfort of my previous Citroens (since 1987 I had been driving from Citroen 3x 2CV, 1x GSA, 3x BX, 3x CX Break TD, and my last car was a 2000 Xantia HDI Millesime Limo which I drove from 2002-2007 – I should never have sold, but I wanted more PS! ). I drive a lot (quasi only long distance, up to 40tkm), but also did not want to spend so much, and wants more variable usable space than in the coupé.Ergo: C5 I – but nu r as >2l diesel, or with V6 on LPG, so that the descent of tight turbo five cylinders is not so difficult – my minimum is approx. 270Nm… I have looked at many C5 I pre-facelift since last summer and tested (2x V6 with LPG, some 2.2 HDI), all had big flaws up to total electronic failure, then I have rather distanced from cheaper C5.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ driving:2006er C5 Facelift Break Exclusive 2.0 HDI 135 FAP 6-speed manually in black, just under 150tkm, first owner, SH, quite good equipment with Navi – AFIL – ESP – Xenon – pensioner radar v&h – AHK removable and electr seats, looks clean, it works (almost…) everything as it should. Hydropneumatics springs soft (though not as nice as in my various previous CX series I & II…), exhaust quite new, brake pads ok, quite new Navi CDs are included. Inspection is however due, Summer tyres are due, I think with it soon the timing belts for age reasons (10 years?). Reduced price: €5500.- with new TÜV, new inspection, new timing belt and brand new summer tyres on org. Citroen-Exclusive 16″ aluminium as well as very good WR on 16″ steel, possibly guarantee (with these policies in the mileage anyway not really bring something…). Outpriced it was exactly to the ADAC/Schwackewert. -> Still too expensive, or in the frame? I noticed the following problems: – The Break window does not open: Is this to be repaired, or rather an electrical or mechanical problem? I haven’t found a C5 break yet, in which the part opened… (is to open with pressure on the switch at the back of the wiper, right? Maybe it’s also up to me, too stupid to operate it… ) – The dampers of the tailgate do not hold the heavy part, it works immediately down, dampers must therefore be replaced. -> Are these larger construction sites? ind somehow built into the roof, can you change the self (there is some aperture in front of it)? With the Xantia it went still jerk-zuck in own direction… ________________________________ General questions: – The brake seemed very “conventional” to me compared to the Xantia – hardly any difference to the Volvo, you have to latch something in with it as well. The braking performance is very good in itself, only pedal feeling is very Citroen-unlike… -> Has the C5 no longer a hydrobrake (“with foot toe tipped) -> Is the C5 I Facelift still susceptible to rear X-legs / longitudinal handlebar bearing damage on the rear axle (e.g. with BX, CX, Xsara, Xantia, where long-term lubricating nipples can be installed in the axle support at the level of the needle bearings)? -> How long does the coupling last with the 2.0 HDI (the Volvo is still the first one after 270tkm, as it has been designed up to 250hp, the Xantia HDI 109 was after only 100tkm a … and had to be changed for expensive money…)? -> Which C5 flaws should I pay attention to before I decide to buy? -> FAP or 2.0 HDI 16V 135 Engine in general: Is there something to consider? Thanks already in advance for tips & opinions! Greetings, Oli
