Maybe it is (as already mentioned) the following cause: the enormous heating up of the center console fittings is well known. Maybe it is really because the temperature sensor for the room temperature is also in this panel!! It sucks the air somehow via a small fan (at least the workshop master says) but is firmly connected to the surrounding heated parts. That would explain everything or?
