1.8 vs. 2.0 in C30

After 1.5 decades with ital. automobiles I will change the habits and preferences a little in spring 07 and probably try a C30. The last two cars had diesel engines (by the way really excellent things), unfortunately the cost/benefit ratio has developed so unfavorably that I can easily drive gasoline again with my basic values and marginal conditions, despite the additional consumption etc. Purchase price/maintenance/ Insurance and the awfully tight engine characteristics (2000 upm speed band) make me think of a petrol engine again. From the paper values the Volvo-Ford 1.8 is almost equal to the 2.0. The minimal multi-leash tunes do not seem to justify the 1,600,- extra costs, at least at first glance. End-jumping over 200 km/h doesn’t matter anyway, I don’t need to, torque is marginally 8-10% higher, should wg. extra weight be hardly perceptible. Acceleration is a uf the paper by a factor of 8% better, and thus lies in the tolerance range of the finish dispersion. Only the +20 hp should be a little noticeable in everyday life. So my question: Can someone from his own experience report here about a significant difference between the two engines, or would you possibly also say… 1800 ccm is ok. Then another question. Will there also be the option “wood” in the interior? I do not want “Alu” or “White” … I think that with this anyway totally Ice-cold and a little too super-relevant interior “wood” would be a good solution. Or can the wood inlays from the S40/V50 be installed in the same way? Thanks for the advice, first. SV
