With my S80II D5 (D5244T10) the hose to the cooler is already lukewarm after only 2 km even in winter. So the engine reaches operating temperature only after a very long time. The workshop has now replaced the thermostat because it obviously opens too early. After I just picked up the car, I had to find out that nothing has changed. Does anyone of you know whether a conventional wax thermostat works in this D5 or whether this is an electrically heated thermostat if the latter should be the case, then maybe the electric heating could be incorrectly controlled by the engine management (i.e. the electric heating in the thermostat starts too early) and there is the cause. A new thermostat (original Volvo) can not be broken again immediately.
