Good evening dear people, I am faced with the difficult decision or choice of a new car or young used car. I have been looking for a long time, unfortunately I lack the experience in the area of Volvo. There is quite no one I know who is driving. Now I have presented myself a new, used or reimported vehicle. I am looking for… Petrol/diesel: Diesel engine: Optimal TDI, pump/nozzle, at best with easily accessible AGR … thes… Pollutant class: At least Euro 6 Power: At least 150hp Running power: New or up to 50,000km Type: Combi or similar Color: Is it second-ranking Extras: Towing clutch, and perhaps well known good equipment to pull even a trailer (4×4? clutch? brakes?) Price: Around the 30,000€ +-700€ We have now let in the narrow selection: Octavia Combi Model 2020, 2.0 TDI SCR 4×4 184PS DSG 7gang Octavia Combi Model 2020, 2.0 TDI SCR 150PS DSG 7gang Octavia Combi Model 2020, 2.0 TDI SCR 150PS 6gang VOLVO V60 CrossCountry D4 AWD 190 PS Geartronic 8gang VOLVO V60 CrossCountry D3 150 PS Geartronic 8gang (or the variant without “cross” ;D) VOLVO V60 CrossCountry D3 150 PS 6Gang (or the variant without “cross” ;D) You can see, actually a choice between Skoda Octavia and Volvo V60. Priced are all roughly within the frame…Alternatives I would like to see…if, for example, the ultra robust low-cost car would give me still unknown nature… I ask myself the question if there are known defects in the respective automatic. You don’t read anything good about the Skoda DSG, whereby the reports are about 4 years old. Second question is whether the 4WD with the “larger” motorization, but apparently the same machine offers an advantage for a trailer? Are there the brakes/coupling also adapted to the higher performance? Otherwise, I would opt for the more powerful variant with 2WD and automatic…and if the known often Zic ken makes, for the switch… At Volvo I have no feeling about the maintenance costs. So if you say e.g. parts like water pump, alternator, brakes… at Skoda I think that’s on level VW… Can someone give me the advice? Would really be great if someone had some experience here. Thanks people for your help! LG
