Hello, I bought a used Smart 453 Fortwo directly from Mercedes in Wuppertal. Since I myself live in Berlin the sale is handled directly online and the car dealership sent me the car documents (letter, note COC, TÜV) via UPS. That was on 13.01., was planned that I will allow my Smart in Berlin and pick up on 18.01.. Since UPS did not deliver in time I decided to pick up the car with transfer license plates and then register correctly, since unfortunately not a I picked up the car on 18.01. and wait until today for the documents. Mercedes has conducted research at UPS on 21.01, until today unsuccessful. The car is ok and I can’t blame Mercedes, they are trying to solve the problem and UPS is still looking for my package. But I have no hope that this is found. Now my questions: Has someone already had similar experience with UPS? Can I assert against UPS usage failure, since I have no hope of using UPS. The package is insured with 510 euros. Who needs to reapply the papers?I haven’t talked to Mercedes about this yet, they still believe it’s good to see the documents. Thank you very much.
