Need for persuasion

Hello, I am looking for a reliable low-maintenance car with a large trunk, in which you have also taken a bike or can sleep in it once a year while camping (also otherwise we are regularly at the Swedish furniture house ;-)… Therefore I have so far looked after V70, E-Class, BMW-5er, Honda Accord or Picasso / Scenic. Often as a reliable and low-maintenance alternative a Prius was recommended to me. My budget was originally 7 k€, I stretch it just up to 11/1200 0 or even think about financing a new one (but then not an upper class combi, but rather a compact van). I currently drive about 45 tkm per year, mostly in Saab 9-3 (unfortunately gear damage at 225 tkm) or Clio diesel (unfortunately electronic problems without ending since 200 tkm). I still have an old MX-5 first series (also 210 tkm), and that’s my benchmark in reliability and undemandingness. So buy a Japanese? The whole diesel discussion and also my environmental awareness would be I like to save on the Tesla ;-)…. The Prius could be a compromise. It is not a station wagon, yes, but should have a relatively large trunk. And I know what is often dismissed as a legend: Is a hybrid petroler something for a lot of AB driving? Overall, I only like the Prius III (or the current Auris station wagon) conditionally. Have here in border near, where a lot of Dutch people drive with it, a strong grandpa image and in Berlin I am in a Prius+ taxi I was scared to see how cheap and uncomfortable it seemed from the inside. Now I’m curious if you can share my perspective or expand it ;-)…
