Hello, I recently discovered this forum and thought, I also set my request. I drive about 2700 KM per month (approx. 70% motorway rides) , which is about 32400 KM per year. At the moment I have a Golf 6 1.4 of 2009 with 80 HP which currently has about 110,000 KM down. I bought the Golf in January 2016 with about: 30,000 KM. Before that I had a Golf 5 with 75 HP which I drove until about 130,000 to sell it and on my current Golf 6 u.a. With both vehicles I have had very good experience and never had big problems or extra-scheduled repairs. This reliability was always very important to me because of my many rides. Now I am already slowly thinking about how it will go on for me in the near future. I am absolutely not from the car department, but I have taken care not to buy a car with TSI engine, since there were problems with these probably in the past. in addition, it was important to me that my car has a timing belt and no control chain, because a timing belt should also be more reliable. 75 hp are not always speedy when driving but absolutely enough for me personally. A little more would be ok though 🙂 I would like to buy a used car with a mileage of 20,000-35,000 KM again. Possibly petrol, no diesel. And would be happy about tips. I tend basically because of my good experiences. Is it reasonable to look for a Golf 6 from 2011 or 2012 with the KM running performance I wanted? Or would the cars be too old and therefore the risk of buying too high? Can I generally say up to which years I should look for cars? I would also like to look at alternatives. From the start, I would like to see a golf course in the future – only which model would be the most useful? Great size is a golf for me ok, I don’t need a bigger car. If I had a good offer I would also like to have a VW Polo or Seat Ibiza. Are there any other cars besides the two mentioned, which might be interesting for me? e.g. a Kia Ceed? Seat Leon? or Toyota Auris ? I would be happy about a few suggestions and feedbacks about my questions.
