With my BMW 530D (05/2003) the fuel supply is interrupted at Tacho 230 km/h or 4500 tours. The 230 km/h it also stops at gradients. So the power has enough. The 230 km/h tacho corresponds to approx. 224/225 km/h in reality. Voher I had 3 years a BMW 525 D (163 hp) which did not have this limit and also ran 223/224 km/h at 4700 rpm. At BMW I am told that this would be a protective measure since in 2001/2002 especially many damage to the injection pu My 525 D had 210,000 km on the speedometer and ran with this high performance without any problems. Who knows remedy ? without typical diesel tuning ! Normally the problem would have to be repairable by a standard software patch. Where can you get such a thing done ? My BMW workshop shows little coperatively and gives itself very closed about this topic.
