Hello Porsche municipality, we will soon get an increase in the form of a 997 turbo. My stepfather has been promised a 997 turbo by the local PZ in the second quarter of 06 (the 997 turbo must sell quite well at the moment or artificial shortage??). Anyway, he wants to order the car with tiptronic (equipment at the moment still freely selectable). So far, i.e. with the predecessor vehicles (993 C2, 996 C2, currently 996 C4S with WLS) I could always talk him out of the tiptronic. But now this seems to be no longer the case with the 997 turbo, on the contrary. I am rather an opponent of automated gearboxes (at most I would still drive SMG), since I find that precisely the interplay of gas, clutch, brake, steering makes the sporty driving. In the automatic case you just have to give gas, brake and steer… OK, then there are still these buttons on the steering wheel. I know about the Cayenne and I don’t think it’s convincing, because it’s intuitive to use your hands, e.g. in tight curves, not far away… I’d be interested in your arguments pro and contra tiprtronic. Are there any experiences with tiptronic and 911 turbo?? Greetings M.
