Buick engine power increase

Hello, I’ve got a 5.7 liter Buick engine from 1972 in my car. I’ve got a noble rock carburetor on it now and I’ve noticed that this has already done a lot, performance. However, the engine is only 8.5:1 compacted. A buddy said it doesn’t do much, since headers and a different suction spider are on it, because the engine is so low compacted. What’s your opinion? It’s supposed to be a TA performance bridge and also headers from TA. I just wanted to make something as simple as possible, oh to have to disassemble half the engine as it is still in a very good condition. Thank you for your answers Felix
