Hello all, I have a speed-dependent ticking noise on my BMW S 1000 RR (2011). The workshop suspects that it is due to the ejected exhaust flap. They took the valve cover and checked the valve play and the control times and did not detect any abnormalities on the towing levers or camshafts. Now my questions: 1. Can you really see through the open valve cover whether the camshaft or towing levers are damaged? Checking oil if abrasion is present? 2. Can an ejected exhaust flap cause speed-dependent ticking, which will be faster even more speed? 3. Wouldn’t damage to camshaft/slip levers also change valve play? Did any of you have similar experiences? Thank you for your help!
