Fuel pump broken ??

Hello, with my Peugeot J5 (year 1993, 1,9L diesel) I always have to be careful that I do not drive the tank empty, because otherwise the whole dirt always goes into the fuel tank and this then has to be changed. But no further trouble, that even I can manage. After that the car runs again with full power (130 kmh peak ). Yesterday it was again so….although I could not remember that the tank was empty. But there were actually some crumbs in the filter. So again it was so…. changed…. but then… at approx. 100 km/h it is closed. The car doesn’t pull anymore. As if I hadn’t changed the filter at all. Twice it went out at a slow turn or stop at the intersection. Jump then again immediately and continue wonderfully until 100 km/h in the 5th gear. Then the same … it doesn’t go on..I really notice how he wants..but it doesn’t come to anything. The other gears can be fully excited. My question now : Can it be that some dirt on the filter By or through the filter is through and now the injection nozzles are clogged. Or the worse possibility: Can the fuel pump die… be dead ?? But as I said, until 100 it drives wonderful. And in the past the problem “only” was eliminated with a new filter. How does it make itself noticeable, when the fuel pump is broken, breaks ?? Does this go over such a long period ?? Have the agen since January 07. What I do not have to say. The previous owner is the car (in summer) 06) driven with Pöl or as it is called. But it’s also been a while. Would be grateful about some opinions and tips. THANK YOU
