Moin! A friend of mine recently bought a Mazda E2000 Camper Bulli (2.0 Gasoline, 1986). Now he saw a few days ago that a proper oil puddle was formed below the gearbox. Everything was then cleaned and then it came to light that the Mazda here from this 5 mm hole on the clutch bell of the gearbox loses the oil. (see pictures in the appendix) Now someone told me that this hole probably serves as a drain so that the clutch does not oil. the oil loss is due to one of the sealing rings (crank shaft or gearbox). He suggests that the gearbox be removed in order to determine whether the oil loss is motor- or drive-side. I first thought that there was a frost plug missing – that would of course have been quickly fixed What would you do or have you heard/experienced something similar before? Does the gearbox then have to be opened and disassembled? And would it be problematic if the Mazda were now still in this condition 2000 – Three thousand miles?
