Old Piaggio 200 Lusso as a valuable investment?

Hello Scoot friends, wanted to hear Euro opinion on a topic. I had already had some Vespas in my fingers (the very old ones from the dad and the sister and also a 50s himself driven) but that was a long time ago. But know the technology in principle still pretty much. A business friend with whom I work constantly together has his old PX200 Lusso to completely renovate years ago. Reason was a capital engine damage due to defect at the separate lubrication. The aim was to bring the Vespe back to the road with a minimum condition of 2a or better. The Scoot has been on a pallet for at least 3 years now in a warm, dry side room of his company and dusts. Everything else is neatly packed in boxes – the tires are not even mounted yet. He has 10 left thumbs and no time to deal with it himself and also does not find anyone who revives the scooter at an adequate price. Gend cartren. What has he done or had it done so far: * completely dismantled caro – everything professionally derusted (blasted with dry ice) and painted by the professional in O-colour in black (looks very neat!) * Rebuild the motor from the professional with O-parts of Piaggio (with invoice for almost 800,- money!) * All Bouwden trains as new parts are there, carburettor new (original), separated lubrication dead * seat re-occupied, new tyres (scootsmart), steering head bearings new * bushings n eu and these YSS dampers (adjustable) vo/hi are already installed. * Exhaust is new and original as an e-part also included * Complete set of all necessary screws new * Distributors under the cascade and electrics are already completely new * Switch on the handlebar inside brand new * Tank is dry inside and rust-free The whole box currently does not look completely assembled a little sad – no wheels on it yet, scrubbing strips not mounted yet, no trains installed and cascade is not installed yet. All parts are complete and undamaged or as new. Letter and all keys are also there. I think about buying the thing as a valuable investment and for the ride to the ice cream parlour if necessary. Visually, the old PX is still the banger for me – from driving the conviction is not so big – there should be a realist – every automatic Scoot is far ahead if you don’t have the comfort. Would never see rain with me and their life if possible me He wants to have 2,600,- Euro for it. Too much in my opinion. But I do a lot of deals with him and I don’t want to push too much. I tried to look around – in that condition I found nothing under 3,500,- Euro completely. But it’s always the question that what someone wants to have, is not forcible that, which he ultimately gets realistic for it. Wanted to hear your opinion. Would be nice.
