Moin, with my XF S I have a very loud taker with a cold engine which only becomes quiet when the engine is a bit warm. So in the stand after about five minutes or about 3-4 km drive. With warm engine it is also there but then it is only with a very fine ear to hear, is more a ticker. Since the engine has only 26000 km down and I still have warranty at the used car dealer I wanted to know it now exactly. I gave the car into a Jaguar representation to make a diagnosis n. Result: Everything is fine, is normal, you have an F-type there with the same engine and it is tackert too. The explanation on my demand which makes the noise come because: It comes from the injection nozzles, which sit under the compressor and there is no insulation possible the noise is transferred to the compressor where you hear it then. To my question why it is only so loud when the engine is cold I got the answer that you don’t know exactly but would assume that. that it is related to the fact that if the engine is cold, more petrol is injected into it so that the engine reaches a faster operating temperature. So I am not quite satisfied with the information, can it really be that way or does any of you have another explanation that is understandable. Please no speculations, I can do that myself for hours. Who has a Jag with this engine, does it work with you too?
