Amplifier gets very hot – Beginner needs help

Hello, I apologize if this topic has been discussed several times, but since I know very little about audio topics, I wanted to ask for your tips. The following problem: Have a hammer 10″ built by Rainbow which is connected to an old power amplifier of Westfalia Technica 4x160W 2 Ohm. The sub has 2×2 ohms and a max power of 550W and a normal power of 300W. I used for the power amplifier 10mm2 power cables which should be sufficient up to 1000W. When I connected the sub as shown on the picture, I noticed that the power amplifier is getting very hot. If you put your hand on it, it is unpleasantly hot after a few seconds. But you have to say that at an outside temperature of 30°. Is that normal and if not what that could be? I am grateful for every tip.
