Charisma purchase advice

Greetings! I am former Mitsubishi driver (Pajero L040 and V20), drive at the time Subaru and am looking for a car for my brother. He starts driving training in July and I am supposed to buy a car for the first few years. The criteria of my parents look as follows: * easy to drive and to operate the car must be * safety should not at least fail * not much over 100hp he should have (tax and insurance reasons) * reliable he is My brother sets the following requirements for his first car: * it must not be an 0815 model ala Golf/Astra/Mondeo etc. * it must be space for 4 people, 2 guitars and amplifiers * he has to find space with his 194 cm size and 110 kg As a fan of Japanese cars I came to the Mitsubishi Charisma among other things, also because I am simply convinced of the quality of Mitsubishi. As I said a limit of ~ 100 hp I got on the diesel variant n. I also think that a turbodiesel for a novice is easier to handle than a petrol driver, keyword “start up”. But when it comes to charisma, the diesel is more of an exception, because I learned that it is a Renault diesel. The 90 hp TD and the 102 hp DI-D are supposed to be from Renault… Is that true? Are they not recommended in terms of reliability and durability? Now, of course, the question arises whether the charisma can come up with Mitsubishi reliability, we he was built in Holland as the brother of the Volvo S/V40. What do you think of the 1.6 litre petrol engine with 90hp? Apart from the fact that he shouldn’t be a racing car? Is the 1.6 petrol engine a Mitsubishi engine? Or also Renault? Thanks for your tips!
