Hello guys, Just for information: Since I need my Fiesta GFJ for a special project, I played around a little bit on the engine. I increased the compression from 8.5:1 (serie) to approx. 11:1. Since I have been driving over E100 all summer, I wanted to know how it will affect when the compression is higher. It is well known that you can get more out of ethanol. So I got a “fast” 1.5mm off the head. The compression pressure was 12 bar before +/- 1. Now it is 15 bar +/-1 . Of course I took a power curve before and after to have a comparison. Here as an appendix times a hard copy of the measurements. I also noticed that the engine in the lower range runs through much better. This also shows the measurement. In the 2nd gear it pulls out super, evenly without having a power hole somewhere. It also has much more torque and that at less speed. At approx. 2000 1/min the double !!! At the power itself nothing has been done But that’s probably because nothing has been changed at the engine capacity. I can’t test the fuel consumption at the moment because the car is logged off. Maybe I’ll let it go for a short time in September and let a few tanks pass through. Greetings Bruno P.S.: The values of the power measurement are not 100%, because they were not made on a test bench. But a comparison is definitely possible.
