On longer journeys, I have a handheld device with me to assess the degree of breakdown of my VWs and Audis on the road. More precisely, there are currently two: SX40 and SX45. The first to display real-time data and engine errors, the second for errors from other ECUs. Now there seems to be an SX45 Pro that combines these two functions in one device for some time now and it is my intention to buy it before my upcoming Balkan trip this year. The reports at Amazon are very positive, but on some points too superficial. Thus, it is not clear from any contribution whether it provides more real-time data for OBD borderline vehicles such as the Golf 4 than for the SX40 which is worrisome on this point. Therefore, my question is whether there is someone here who has such a device and such a vehicle and could try it out.
