In the lift of a lambskin cover over the seat, I had apparently caused the mechanism of the crash-box by some touch (in the event of an accident, it is probably caused by considerable damage, among other things. This crash box consists of a kind of metal hood, in the middle of which a rubber is placed on the surface. The solution in my case was very simple: press the thumb in the middle, you can feel a resistance under the rubber that you press down. After that the engine starts again as usual! Unfortunately, nothing is to be read in the operating instructions of this device. The mechanic told me that he already had a similar effect. At a Punto, the mechanism of the crash box was activated as soon as you let the seat slide backwards or forwards with “Schmackes”. Watched for other models: The crash box does not always appear to be sitting in the described position under the driver’s seat.
