I drive a Jimny Bj. 2004 with a mileage of approx. 80.000km The engine clacked at speeds of approx. 3,500 rpm and low load. I had renewed the following: – renewal piston bolts The piston bolts were considerably knocked out. The new piston bolts fit in the piston. After that the clacking was better, but still available. – renewal bearing shells connecting rod / crankshaft The bearing game was above the wear limit. This had not changed with the new bearing shells No improvement – Renewal control chain with chain tensioner No improvement – Renewal tap sensor No improvement – Renewal oil filter The cracker is almost completely gone. Note: Suzuki oil filters have an internal overflow of 1 bar. In the oil filter cartridges of VW the overflow opens at 2.5 bar. As the connections fit each other the wrong oil filter was installed.
