Hi, so far I didn’t have much to do with OBD, except that I “read out” the Motronic and the ABS of my BMW motorcycle. My old Audi 80 B3 didn’t have so much trouble either. But now I have an Audi A4 B5 (1.8 petrol engine, year 1997 with FIS) and I probably have to deal with the topic as a screwdriver. I ask for your help, because I have already tortured the search function, but this has confused me more than helped me. First, I am looking for a possibility/device with which I am looking for the best solution. The whole thing is as cost-effective as I don’t want to use it professionally (thinking so < 100 Euro). An older NOtebook (Pentium I, Win 98) would be available. What do I want to do with it? What should the device/software be able to do? -Read out error codes -Reset inspection intervals What kind of OBD does the car have? I or II?
