Hello! I bought a Range Rover 4.6 HSE BJ 1995 cheaply from a colleague who has a starting problem! The car was driven the last time about 2 months ago when the water temp. rose and the engine switched off. In the display there was nothing to see. Previous owner (no messages) When then looked why the car was running so hot and they opened the engine hood it smoked white from the cool container (probably H2o steam was – he was definitely white ss the smoke) After that the engine could not be started. Since then it only turns through but no longer starts. Since now about 1 month the battery is empty and the immobiliser activated as well as the key remote control has no function anymore. (allegedly according to previous owners already happened and then was said that the immobiliser turns on autom. when the battery is empty) I don’t know!? since the immobiliser is now activated also appears on the display d he message “Motor blocks” Supposedly only since the immobilizer has switched on. When I looked at the engine compartment today I noticed that the cooling liquid tank is completely empty although the previous owner asserts that the fluid levels after the engine incident were all normal. A question about this: Can it be that the range itself switches off at elevated temperature or too low water level to prevent a greater damage???? Is the car so “intelligent” t???? On Monday I put the car in the LR workshop in Linz (but only for diagnosis there only those who have the software and the PC) rep. I do not do anything with them – it is only a software error. Besides, I have to deactivate the immobilizer anyway to a lr partner. I let all size be done with my mechanic. I would be very grateful if you could help me here with diagnostic suggestions or other help on what the problem might be. How much Does it cost to deactivate the immobilizer? So I’m happy about every hint! Thanks Lg Frederik
