Hello guys, maybe someone here knows what that’s like. I’ve been asking myself the question for a while, but I’m afraid to keep asking again and again. So, I’ve noticed in all my automatic vehicles so far (so also in Phaeton) that you can have different engine turns at a certain speed in the same gear. For example at Phaeton: – 5 gear – 100km/h – you let it slide, i.e. gas only slightly tap that it holds the speed, the engine has approx. 1800 U /Min. – If you give a little bit more gas and accelerate from 90km/h to 110km/h, the engine has already from 90km/h over 2200 rpm. How can that be? I thought up to now that the gear shift has 5 gears. These are rigid and translate always with a fixed transmission. That means for me, that the motor, should a gear be inserted, always have to turn immediately if you drive with a gear the same speed. There is still the clutch (or converter or how to d but that would mean that she is always grinding? Oo Or is there nothing more today? How is then uncoupled/coupled? Oo Did someone else notice that?
