Hello, first of all happy news. A few weeks ago I had asked here what my engine sounds could be. Unfortunately this did not lead to any result. Now my Volvo was examined by the Volvo workshop, and put on stage. It turns out that the “blowing”, or “summing” as the dealer called it, is a “starting shaft bearing damage”. So, the automatic transmission must be overhauled at some point. IT is a TF-80SC, 36050322 transmission. Nu n my question… of course the dealer did not want to give me a concrete answer. What can I also understand. But what do you mean. If it is a BEGINNING bearing damage, the howling, buzzing is not yet very loud… How is that then. Can the car stop at some point and the gearbox falls apart? And how long is it from the BEGINNING to the TOTAL bearing damage. Can I still drive a few more KM or even many more? I will have the gearbox overtaken, costs about 2800 €, but I would like to be able to find out how urgent this is here. I would be very happy about your opinions…. Until then, thank you very much,
