Hello together, for a long time the Sprinter with the 3.0 V6 with 190hp/440Nm was the strongest diesel on the transporter market. Currently Mercedes is overtaken. Iveco offers the 3.0 R4 with Biturbo and 205hp/470Nm. At Ford you get the 3.2 R5 with 200hp/470Nm. And even Fiat closes with the Ducato and 180hp almost to the Sprinter. From the range V-Class and Viano the 3.0 V6 with 224hp just disappears with the model change to the class 447 and is replaced by the OM651 with 190hp I’m starting to wonder where Mercedes really wants to go. Not that you absolutely have to have >200 horses in every transporter. But market leadership looks different to me. And against the background that you have already gone back 34hp in the 447 instead of putting a skip on it makes me think. What do you think? Where does it go with engine technology? Is there any engine from the Mercedes house that also has a fuel tank? with its high average load requirement on the engine at >200hp would still be stable? The OM651 probably not be in question?
