Hello my name is Jörg and our Ford Transit built in 2006, 2198cm3 as a camper needs a new starter. The following problem was creeping up. Every now and then the starter had difficulties to start. Slowly started and then became faster and faster until the engine started. At the penultimate time he needed to jump in for eternity and one had smelled it at some point. Nevertheless, the transit started well the next day. That was the last time he checked in. The starter only makes once more clack when the key is turned in starting position. Mass connection is ok, power supply from battery driver seat to the engine and up to the starter ok. Voltage over 12 volt. Power supply from ignition lock to starter is probably also ok, otherwise no crack noise would come. I now firmly believe that the magnetic switch does not let through any power to starter and would like to order the now gladly expand a proper starter. It’s a big cable that’s already loose, but is kept by a plastic tab that goes under the magnetic switch. There’s also another cable where I would say that this should be the cable of ignition lock. But this cable can’t be disconnected / pulled off. It looks like it’s firmly connected to the magnetic switch. Can that be?. I know it, that you have a cable with a cable shoe that is simply pulled off. I’m surprised that this yellow/green cable from the wire harness is firmly connected to magnetic switches. The thick cable can’t be removed from the screw either because of this plastic holder. Maybe someone can say more about this, be grateful about help. As it looks like, the starter is only screwed to gear with two screws and off it is then, or maybe someone also has a transit from you and has this too. The transit has dropped 125,000 and the starter is welcome to retire. I don’t always want to worry about whether the transit starts or not. Thank you for your help Greeting Jörg
