Hello, I’m newly registered and I’m addressing you with the following topic: For about 3 months I’ve had a speed-independent whirring in the front area of the vehicle. At low speed it’s quite low and it gets louder and higher in frequency with increasing speed. Between 60 and 80 km/h it’s the most obvious thing to hear. When I drive right curves, it gets louder and with left curves it gets less. But it’s permanent. The only thing is that I always had a chirping on the left side of the wheel, which suddenly disappeared with the entry of the buzz. I speculated on wheel bearings and had it tested. In the workshop I was told that everything was fine. The wheel has no game. Only the tires had sawtooth profile. I can only say that the tires are 2 years old (from Dunlop) and have only 5000 km down. It is also completely independent of the road surface. Therefore, I doubt the statement that it is the tires. Can a wheel bearing turn in freewheel without noise and cause a hum only under weight or load? Are there other components on the vehicle that can cause a buzz depending on the speed (I think of drive shafts etc.)? With selector levers on “N” the noise is also permanent. I would be very pleased about well-founded ideas. Toyota Corolla 1.6 Automatic 70200 km BJ: 2003 E12J (a real Japanese)
