Hello, has anyone ever thought about oil preheating by means of electric heaters? I think about how I can improve the living conditions of my poor short-range motor (Diesel 2.5L Renault G9U) a little bit. DEFA & Co. doesn’t give much about oil preheaters. Cooling water preheating is like sand on the sea, but I’m less interested in it, I’m interested in oil and cold start wear. The first idea to press the oil circuit electrically with pressure before starting the engine turned out to be not really practicable/permanent. Plan B would be, by means of an electric heater, as installed in the Mercedes W210/211 or in the BMW 730d (transmitter heater), to pump the olio in the oil tank and heat it up. How do you estimate that, could the cooling water heaters also digest oil?
