Help! Air filter of my Kia Ceed was not properly closed after inspection before 3000km

Hello together, a few weeks ago I bought a used Kia Ceed from 2019. It was particularly important to me that the car was kept in a Kia workshop to make sure that it was still covered by the factory warranty. Shortly after the purchase I noticed that my car was knocking at the start in the morning (after a long standstill). This problem also occurred on the following days. I immediately contacted the workshop and received an appointment for today. I today I was contacted by the workshop and informed that the engine’s air filter was probably not properly sealed during the last inspection. This caused the knocking when starting. The last inspection took place about 3000 kilometers ago, while I only own the vehicle for about 600 kilometers. This means that the car has not been properly covered for 3000 kilometers with a Now I am concerned that this could have led to long-term damage to the engine and would like to hear your opinion on it. Since I have both the warranty from the dealer and the Kia factory warranty and this was a fault of a Kia workshop, I would also be interested in how I should proceed best.
