The shock was great when I was asked to charge almost 670 EUR for it (and that without airbag shutdown)! The friendly explained to me that you have to change the seat cover completely. Why, he could not tell me. According to the installation photo, it was only 4 screws (!) needed to install the bar. A call to Fismatec solved the puzzle: Smart builds a “recognition system” into the seat cushion, which switches off the passenger airbag as soon as an IsoFix child seat is connected. Because my Smart has an airbag shutdown and I feel so a “recognition system” for absolutely unnecessary, I ordered the bar (incl. screws and covers) for 90 EUR and get it in a very short time.
