Hello, here in Spain the EA189 engines have not received the green badge, because they do not meet the EURO6 standard, but the EURO5J standard. This will soon lead to driving bans (at the latest in 2024, at least in the big cities like Madrid). Since the engines of the type EA189 but already work with AdBlue I would like to know if there is any way to upgrade the car so that it meets EURO6? The successor model EA288 meets the EURO6 yes, but I did not find any details on how the engines differ, and whether it is a basic new engine, or only an improved EA189, which could possibly be retrofitted.
