Hello together, At the last oil change, I ordered a change of the brake fluid at the workshop. Reason: The friendly person claimed to have carried out an inspection when selling the car to me, but did not want/could provide me with a copy of the invoice/activities carried out. The oil was obviously changed, but the braking feeling seemed to me unchanged to the test drive, whereby the brake fluid should have been replaced. Dah I had the brake fluid changed at the next change date due (October 2020), the brake feeling is now felt better – so far so good. Since I had time to switch from summer to winter bikes at the beginning of October, I did so the day after the change of the brake fluid. I had to find out that on the steel rims and tyres at the front left and back right was still brake fluid. I then tried to “wash off” with water as far as I could. Ic h, of course, called the workshop and told the service manager my “Fund” but he saw the whole thing stress-free and said that it was no problem, because brake fluid attacks paint rather than the rubber of a tire. He also gave me the hint that I can remove it also with brake cleaner. I added pictures of the wheels. How do you see this? Brake fluid attacks the tire (Wikipedia says yes, but otherwise I have little revealing Beric on the Internet. And has the amount and duration of action of approx. one day already been enough to generate a damage that could lead to a burst of the tire at higher speed? Bzw do I need new summer tires now? Thank you for your opinions!
