“Checkbook-kept”

For some time now, I’ve been thinking about why a checkbook car is so welcome to us. If I think about it, most of what our own car does anyway is done during an inspection. Filling up liquids, checking frost protection etc. Costs do a lot, however, because one is persuaded to make new things that actually don’t have to be made so badly new. As an example, I just call my Som Every workshop has been swabbing me for 1 year, the tires…yah…they are really overdue. In addition, an overpriced offer..and..some one would strike. Now I always refused thankingly and drive now for 1 year with these tires..and, die there, 1 month ago I passed the TÜV exactly with these tires. Okay, for the inspections jibbet the great stamp into the service booklet. Now you could do everything according to SAAB regulations, all 20,000 oil changes. I bought my car, it had only a few stamps. But the previous owner made all 10,000 himself an oil change and otherwise took great care of the car. I do that now. I did not get a new stamp since I drove the car. But he got from me all the things that are in the service booklet PLUS more often oil change with better oil..naja.. and much affection . Well, suppose I would want to sell the car But then the potential buyer will say: “Boah, the last stamp is in with km- stand 160,000!”. Great! But actually I think that my car is more well-kept than one with a full checkbook. Why do so many people (almost necessarily) go to the service dates? Is this really SOO important? I know that there is the motto “live and let live”. But it doesn’t mean “live and give away money”….
