Hello, the American has conducted a new Frontal Crash test with 11 mid-range cars, in which only 25% overlap with the barrier was available (“small overlap front test”. This corresponds more to the real accident scenarios in frontal collisions, than the 40% overlap previously tested (also at EuroNCAP). Only 2 vehicles reached the top score “good”. Quotation: The Acura TL and Volvo S60 earn good ratings, while the Infiniti G earns acceptable. The Acura TSX, BMW 3 series , Lincoln MKZ and Volkswagen CC earn marginal ratings. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS 250/350, Audi A4 and Lexus ES 350 earn poor. All of these cars are 2012 models. There are obviously still optimization needs and possibilities in vehicle design. Does crash safety play an important or only a minor role in vehicle selection for you? Greetings, south-facing
