Tesla boss Musk sets up sleeping camps in factory

Palo Alto – Tesla CEO Elon Musk now wants to personally take care of the progress in the production of the Model 3. He does not want to leave production manager Doug Field alone to supervise. “Now it’s time to split up and conquer”, wrote the 46-year-old Group CEO on Twitter. He will also set up his dorm in the Tesla factory again. “The car business is hell,” wrote Musk. Previously, the Silicon Valley portal “The Information” had reported that Mu sk has taken control of the previously unsatisfactory production of the first Tesla model for a larger group of buyers. Tesla is making it difficult to create that the production of the Model 3 is repeatedly thrown back by breakdowns and thus starts up much slower than planned. Industry observers doubt that the already postponed target of reaching 2,500 vehicles per week was reached by the end of March. Originally, the company wanted to be ready to by the end of 2017 to 5,000 vehicles of the Model 3 per week, this target brand has now been postponed to the end of June. Tesla decided on a production with even more automation than usual at the Model 3 – and it takes longer to stop the machines, it says. Source: dpa
