Would also pay a few EUR extra for this. After my order from the NEW G63 and the wish of a leather covered airbag module I was told in the Center of Excellence that such airbag bang tests would be very expensive, and this is one reason why they are not offered in all classes. only the mopf S class with the leather covered airbag module delivered ex factory. Brabus offers since the latest also the leather cover of the airbag module (see appendix). One can assume that the leather airbags of Mercedes and Brabus have been tested accordingly – and in case of emergency will also trigger. There are of course various suppliers/sattler with which one can have an airbag in leather/alcantara already from EUR 200. Whether these then in case of harvest properly trigger and open, remains natural I would like to have the ORIGINAL leather airbag module from the mopf S-Class (same steering wheel as in the NEW G) inclick. To do this, it would be interesting to know which airbag module is installed in the NEW G-Class and of course also in the mopf S-Class – if these are the same my plan goes on If someone had time/lust and dares to look at the NEW G… I would like to do it myself, but my NEW G comes to the end October 2018. Procedure: on the back of the steering wheel there are 2 small openings there you come in with a small screwdriver and can unlock the airbag, then you can pull it out and read on the back what is on it or shoot a photo – and please just press the airbag module back into the steering wheel.
