Hello dear BMW 8er municipality, I am currently driving a modified 125d and a modified M140i and I am now slowly preparing for a successor for these two still great cars. In question are M2, M4, M850i, or M8. I like the 8er very well (inside as well as outside). With the design of M2 and M4 I can not really be friends, even if they are technically very good cars. The large kidney at the M4 is not working at all and inside with the Curved display I ask mic h also what this is supposed to be!! On the other hand, the 8s would be optically perfect for me. Maybe a little bit big, but I could get used to it Recently I drove an M850i to the test. The car had a lasting impact on me. Not so much the acceleration or the passage (I knew what to expect), but all the more how good it was on the road and how agile the car looked despite the weight and the dimensions. So I could really be friends with such a vehicle. But ask me how good the engine is in terms of quality and stability (I would still like to do a SW tuning). The older 8 cylinders have probably caused some problems. Are there any users who can say something from their own experience or “insider knowledge”? The B58 is very stable and in my M140i it just makes me happy. The successor should of course be at least as good and stable (independent of the number of cylinders). ank. Michael
