Hail damage, partial cascade, previously intended for sale

Hello forum, the topic has already been dealt with exhaustively, but here is a new case constellation: I was on the way to the car dealership. Purchase contract for new vehicle signed, my “old ones” wanted to take me in payment for 1,800 EUR. This was handwritten at “others” on the purchase contract. On the return trip from the car dealership I came into a hail shower. The dents are not deep, but numerous: roof, bonnet, roof bars, doors, and the front window has louder I am partially insured and have reported the damage the next day of my insurance. They send an expert (for a collective inspection). I honestly also called in the car dealership, who actually wanted to take my vehicle into payment. Of course, they don’t take it anymore, even if I have the damage repaired (if that is possible at all, because of the probably low level of damage). So I would choose the fictitious bill and not have the car repaired. After what I have read here, the insurance company will probably pay off replacement minus residual value anyway. Here are my questions: 1. Can I sell the car at all? I have read, you can only fictitiously settle if you use the car after 6 months. But I wanted to sell it anyway, regardless of the damage… And the new guy is definitely on the road. And soon there. I can’t “shift” that anymore. 2. Or should I not allow the new one to go home yet, and still drive the old one until the deadline is around? 3. If the insurance presents a residual value of x EUR, and because of me the buyer XY, I can then take the insurance into the “obligation” according to the motto: If you have determined a residual value, then take the car with you! If the insurance then takes care of the contact, collection, Cash payment? Or is that my job (and my risk, if there is such a “half-seat” coming)? I hope that with the insurance payment and the remaining value, I will at least come to the original payment offer from the beginning of the text. Or would that not work for some reason as I imagine, since the car should be sold? Thank you for your tips Katja26
