Hey dear community! I’m looking for the right car for me at the moment. I’m currently heading towards Renault Megane II (Facelift). Since I’m looking for a station wagon, and this one is not even that small, it’s probably a good choice, especially since I’ve heard a lot of good things about this car so far. Anyway, I’m unsure about the engine choice. I drive a lot of highway (90%), so a little bit of performance would of course be desirable. However, since I don’t know about the Renault engines, I need help here. The 1.5 is supposed to be very economical and robust. The performance is supposed to be fine. I hear less good about the 1.9, it should be more vulnerable and hardly go better, but need a liter more and of course also cost more tax and insurance. The 2.0 is supposed to be really good again and also fun, and this in case of a car, the 2.0 is supposed to be good again. How is that all right? Is the 1.9r also a good choice, or would you prefer to grab the 1.5r or 2.0r? The next point I want to ask is what you should look for when you look at a used megane. You’ll probably be looking at a price segment of 7000-8000€ and if possible buy one with Keyless Entry – Drive. So the cars will have something between 50,000 and 125,000km down.
