Optimum rim size?

For a week now, instead of the 17″ Double-3-Spoke with Pirelli P6000, I now have winter tyres on 15″ steel rims on it. Even if the look suffers a little, I can see (as every year) noticeable improvements in driving behaviour: the tramlining is gone, the comfort is significantly better, the car looks lighter and consumes even less. From a physical point of view, the whole thing is also well understandable, since smaller rims (at least usually) a lower Tr And especially the Double-3-Spoke with its 20+ kg (incl. tires) are not really light weights… So far nothing new, only one comes to ponder at some point and thinks about the meaningfulness of large rims, if they are (really objectively) actually only associated with disadvantages. In particular, the change to 16″ in the summer seems to me to be a possible combination. In addition, the question arises to what extent the comfort aspect and the tramlining are due to the tyres. The P6000 don’t have the best reputation for our cars. In other words, can you save the driving behaviour with the double 3 spoke through the right tires? I’m curious about your opinions on the topic!
