Hello SLK-community, my “SLK 230 R170 facelift” has been on the hump for 9 years now, but has run only 89,000 km during this time. The external condition of the vehicle is actually extremely good. However, in recent times the roof can only be closed with difficulty. As soon as the switch is activated, the boot lid only lifts a minimal piece, the electric motor stops and the switch flashes. I have to repeat the switch’s operation about 10 times. l the boot lid rises again a small piece in order to have the electric motor suspended immediately. As soon as the boot lid is finally fully open, everything works as it should: the roof closes automatically and completely.
