The start/stop lie!?

Does start/stop what? I tested it! First of all: No, it’s no use! I came up with the idea to test this because a (good) friend had an interest in a Cadillac Escalade. And then we came up with the topic of engine start remote control, which is available in the states, but is strictly forbidden with us (for unproven reasons!)! So I thought I was testing how much son car in the stand consumes so much… Test1: Heating against engine warm up: at -5 degrees, BMW X3 Preheating against Mercedes GLC 220d engine… Result: after 30min! Both cars warm (the Mercedes with engine but significantly warmer!) have consumed about 0.5l diesel! Where now the advantage of a preheating should be? Can we discuss… Test 2: what needs the X3 F25 35d (6cylinders) and the Mercedes GLC 220d (4cylinders) in one hour? Result: after one hour each (does not hit me to 0.1l) but there were roughly 0.7litres in both! Also a discussion test 3: what does a 5,5l V8 gasoline engine consume with 571hp in an hour? I got myself a petrol-resistant measuring cup and ran the test! The result is amazing! nuuuur 0.9 liters! I had expected a lot more!
