Hello municipality What do you think about the specified timing belt intervals of Renault? I would have an offer. A Renault Megane I 1.6 16V Grandtour automatic from 2000 (engine K4M701) with 140’000km and last timing belt change at 115’000km, but 5 years ago. The car is fresh from the MFK (as in the BRD of the TÜV) without defects. Renault indicates an interval of exactly these 5 years. How big is the risk, if we say two years longer. I do so about 15’000km in the yes hr. In two years the next MFK would be due. Please no other comments about the age of the vehicle. It is only about the timing belt in this thread.
