In my 15-year-old Audi A4 B6 (without factory active system) I installed Helix E 62C in the front doors by a car audio specialist. Connected directly to an Alpine CDE-178BT and the rear serial loudspeakers from Audi should for the time being run as a “space filler” (by fader a little quieter). Cables were only made new in the door, so from the turnout to loudspeakers – the previous (1mm) the fitter has measured and should be OK. The new Helix does not want to sound so right, it lacks depth, pressure and space; especially compared to the old ones. Could be that the Helix (always 91dB 1W/1m) are more efficient than the standard door speakers (?), but then would be just less volume and pressure out to h Olen… I put everything on linear/flat now and for the test the separation frequency to 63Hz (with both circumcised), the bass nevertheless comes deeper and some more powerful/cracker from the old 0815 speakers?! The Helix sound up to approx. 800Hz extremely “thin” and also not viiiiel clearer. As if the whole was overmolded or would run with twisted phase. Polishing of course tested. Here a name, whereby it sounds even worse in “Live” – the Aufna me was made in the direction of the new speaker (except closer to the microphone); when changing front/back with the fader one can clearly hear what I mean (Upper MT and the high sound are a bit too intrusive because of the position of the microphone):https://youtu.be/SdEDj9sfXWI
