Hello, from the engine compartment often comes a whistling/screaming noise for 1-3 seconds when I step through the accelerator. I give gas-> IIEEHHG, let the engine come up to 3400 rpm, turn up, give gas -> IIEEHHG! This noise occurs at about 2200 rpm, if the engine wants to grip properly. It reminds a little after a screeching wedge belt, but is not. With open windows you can hear it quite loud, but even with closed windows you can hear it when you click on it. I have already told the Volvo dealer twice, when I brought the car to the inspection. He thinks it’s normal. “There’s something blowing off”. If that’s normal, then other 2.0D drivers should hear this noise? So my question to the 2.0D driver: Does your engine make such a funny noise at a strong acceleration? “Blow off” should not really happen anyway? The 2.0 has a VTG turbocharger, which has the charging pressure above the wing position. I’ve also driven Wastegate loaders and you didn’t hear any noise from the sound.
