300se w126 or w140 280se ?? am torn back and forth…!

hello values star-community, am actually an audio-quattro driver, but my attention has recently been very much focused on the 2 o.g. classics. I read through the forum, but I find that the w140 seems to be technically more mature and durable than its predecessor. I speculate with 2 variants, either the 300se (w126) or the 280se (w140) – at the last mentioned I am interested whether this is the 6 cyl.motor with 142 kw from the e-class? (w124 and w21 0) Since both cars have the same space and performance close to each other, I would also be interested in which car you can “comfortably, more relaxed and not by too often inserted tank stops (in comparison).how are the overall driving performance of both compared? can you compare the two motors at all? for the w126, I think the timeless design speaks, among other things, in any case, against the something against rust prone car body, as well as the old and the d w140 speaks the better technique (?) and a little younger they are too. (and bigger 🙂 which of the two types is more susceptible to reperture in statistics and are the replacement prices about the same or does dc hit the w140 right there? is the w140 also a kind of special tariff insurance as is possible at w126? you follow the forum every driver of a s-class with each of his car always satisfied, the w126 sc hwörden on her classic, the w140 drivers love their armor. therefore it is not so easy to decide on one of the two. would be happy if the respective representatives of the 2 cars could write something about it. p.s. about the w140 280se is written relatively little here, nobody drives it ? if this motor is not recommended, I ask this also to explain briefly or to report from experience. …thanks in advance! mfg quattro-6
