Hi! Okay, okay… it’s not that bad – but compared to the “old” Volvos, the sheet metal of the S80 can’t keep up in any way anymore. My father’s S80 now has countless little dents on its side after 3j and even one on its bonnet. (perhaps child who wanted to pass by the bike) Probably because all manufacturers are on the lightweight trip. Safety is not affected by this, since modern cars have stable carriers – but to save weight e If I just think what we didn’t roll into the 244 – in 19j the car didn’t have a single (!) little dent. (and I really always kept the car carefully waxed and polished) I remember having parked once in heavy rain. Unfortunately I had forgotten that right next to the car was a frame where as thick iron bars as bananas were standing out of the ground. I slammed the door open. And it made a noise… yes, one of the kind that really hurts. And then what was? Nothing. Not the least deformation. I’m clear… the S80 is a wide car and that increases the chance that you get a door etc. on the sheet metal… but these countless dents are actually not worthy of a “Volvo tank”. And I actually hardly saw an S80 driving on the road, where I would not have noticed at least a dent on the side. Did you know that It can’t fail at Volvo to stick a few bitumen mats behind the sheet metal. mfG – linn, a little angry
