Hello guys, I am an anti-cyclical tyre buyer (have bought my winter tyres this summer) and am currently planning the new purchase of summer tyres. I drive in the Har about 45,000km, of which 25,000km on winter tyres and correspondingly 20,000km on summer tyres. Since I have always had very good experiences with Michelin tires so far, it should be Michelin tires again now on my 320d. And that is I will drive the size 225 / 40 / 18 all around. I now have the prices from the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (€93) and Pilot Sport 4 (€105) compared: The PS4 would therefore be 48€ more expensive than the tyre set. Now I have seen that the PS3 has the energy efficiency class E, whereas the PS4 have the energy efficiency class C. What does that matter with a diesel at 100km in terms of fuel savings? With my driving performance I would assume that the tyres will last at least 40,000 km, i.e. 2 years. For me, the higher purchase price of the PS4 is justified, but I also suspect that the driving characteristics on wet (both class A) are probably even better for the PS4. If I would be happy about your experiences (doesn’t have to be Michelin, I am interested in the general difference whether this is really measurable in terms of fuel consumption.) Greetings Philipp
